What brands/sizes do you commonly stock?
Unlike the big box retail stores, we represent many brands and are equipped to quote anywhere from a single window to an entire custom home. For this reason, we don’t keep a lot of stock on hand as each project we bid is unique.
We recommend visiting our showroom so you can see the difference among our product lines. Whether you are replacing all your windows and patio doors in your home, or just a few we can order them and have them in as little as 2-4 weeks. This gives you time to prepare for installation, and if using our in-house installers, get your project scheduled on our books.
How much does it cost to install one window or patio door?
This is difficult to quantify over the phone or on our showroom floor. There are many variables which contribute to pricing the install. We recommend you contact us and let one of our sales reps quote you a ball park price once you have described some of the conditions on your home. Or if you would prefer, we will send one of our installation experts to your home or business and assess your specific needs.
Do I have to replace all my windows and patio doors at the same time?
R&K understands that upgrading and retrofitting your entire home with new windows and patio doors is a big project. It can be expensive and disruptive. Financing options may allow you to defer the cost of your project over a period of time, allowing you to undertake the project all at once. Call an make an appointment, and our reliable and knowledgeable sales staff will guide you through the process.

What’s an energy-efficient window?
Most energy efficient windows will have the minimum of: Double-pane insulated glass, Heat-resistant (Low-E) glass coating, Airtight frames, and be ENERGY STAR® rated. R&K supplies various windows from several window manufacturers that can meet or exceed your specific energy efficiency needs.
How big of an energy savings can I count on if I upgrade my windows from single pane to dual pane or triple pane?
Windows are now recognized as “thermal weak spots” in a house. Up to 15 times more heat is lost or gained through windows as is lost or gained through an equal area of wall space.
One important way to decrease energy loss through windows is to increase the number of panes, or glazings. A single-paned, untreated window unit is very energy inefficient. A measurement of its resistance to heat shows that this single paned window has an R-value of about R-1. A double-paned, untreated unit has a rating of R-2.1, and a triple paned unit has a value of R-3.2.
Please make sure you ask your sales associate about the many different types of glass and glazing’s our manufacturers have that can help reduce energy costs for your specific needs.
What does Low E mean and what are the benefits?
Low “E” stands for “emissivity”, a transparent coating applied to a glass surface to separate long wave (heat) energy and short wave (light) energy. The long wave is reflected back to the heat source. The short wave is allowed to pass through the coating.
Stop by our showroom and have one of our sales representatives show you our heat lamp glass display, where you can see and feel the difference for yourself.
